Travel Planning

Please plan your flight to arrive no later than 4:00 PM. The Kickoff Reception and Dinner will begin at 5:00 PM.

The 1 Millions Cups Organizers Summit will officially begin with a welcome reception and dinner on the evening of Sunday, September 22 and will officially conclude after the Wednesday morning 1MC Kansas City meeting. Staying for the 1MCKC event at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, September 25 is highly encouraged but not required.  

Please plan your return flight to leave Wednesday morning, September 25. The Kauffman Foundation will provide one round-trip (lowest-priced), ticket per person when the trip is booked through the Kauffman Foundation travel agency, Travel and Transport. If you prefer not to accept that particular itinerary, you have the option of changing the itinerary but will be asked to pay the difference between the fare offered and the fare of your choice. Upon registering, you will receive a link to book your airfare directly within 2 business days.

All charges, fees, additional fare costs or penalties incurred from changes made to airline reservations after they are ticketed are solely the financial responsibility of the participant and are not subject to reimbursement.

Covered Expenses

The Foundation will be directly responsible for the following expenses for one attendee per community: airfare, mileage (if driving), hotel accommodations, conference meals and shuttle service to and from the hotel for offsite events. 

Note: If you are not permitted to receive your travel paid for by the Kauffman Foundation, you may still use the travel link that will be sent to arrange your travel. If you do not use our link, please share your itinerary with Katy Kohlmeyer at kkohlmeyer@wellingtonexperience.com to allow us to ensure that all other conference-related matters are coordinated.

Expenses Not Covered

We regret that we are unable to cover any additional travel expenses including: airport transportation, airport parking, meals while traveling, or incidental costs including car valet gratuities, spa services, restaurant/bar expenses, honor bar, or any costs associated with guests traveling with meeting participants. Meals on your own are not reimbursed by the Kauffman Foundation.

  • Seating preference (aisle or window)
  • Time requirements for travel

  • Relevant frequent flyer number
  • Special requirement requests

Who is Wellington?

Wellington is a live experience and marketing agency working with The Kauffman Foundation to help deliver the 1 Million Cups Organizer Summit this year.  Wellington will be working with you to help coordinate all of your registration and travel details and answer any questions you may have.

Cancellation Policy

As a courtesy, we ask that all cancellations be made at least 14 days in advance by contacting Katy Kohlmeyer at kkohlmeyer@wellingtonexperience.com. If airline reservations have been confirmed and ticketed prior to cancellation, the participant will be financially responsible for the full cost of the airfare and any change fees. By making reservations with our travel agency and accepting covered travel accommodations, you acknowledge and accept the terms of this cancellation policy.
